Obsidian is natural glass formed when viscous lava from volcanoes cools rapidly. It has been used for jewellery, mirrors, and tools for centuries. Mahogany Obsidian is brownish obsidian. This glassy, lustrous mineral is found in lava flows, and obsidian stones can be massive. Most obsidian is 70 percent silica.
